What You'll Learn
What is Bibliology? Bibliology is simply the theological understanding of the nature and purpose of the Bible itself.
The ultimate foundation or fountain of all truth is the Trinity—the Godhead. But in terms of our understanding of all theology—including the Trinity—we must first wrestle with the fundamental questions about how and why God chose to reveal Himself through the Bible, and how that frames all of theology.
The main overarching doctrine of Bibliology is therefore, Revelation.
The five main ancillary doctrines that fall under the umbrella doctrine of Revelation are: Inspiration, Inerrancy, Authority, Sufficiency, and Canonicity.
Those may be unfamiliar or somewhat familiar terms to you now, but once you complete this module you will have a thorough working knowledge of each of the doctrines and why they are foundational to all that you will learn in the modules that follow.
That's why this module is a prerequisite to Module 2—which will focus on the theological method, also known as hermeneutics.

Todd Hampson is a best-selling author, speaker, animation producer, and co-host of the Prophecy Pros Podcast.
In 2003 Todd founded Timbuktoons, LLC, an award-winning animation company that develops and produces Christ-centered animated shows.
Todd has written and/or illustrated over 17 books on the topics of Bible prophecy and apologetics.
Todd and his wife Tracey currently make their home in Georgia with their three grown children and daughter-in-law.
Todd is a graduate of the University of Maryland (BA), and is a current student at Dallas Theological Seminary (MBTS, Spring 2025).

Doctrinal Statement
- We believe that the sixty-six canonical books of the Old and New Testaments, alone and in their entirety, comprise the God-inspired Word of God which, therefore, are inerrant in their original autographs.
- We believe the Bible should be interpreted normally, as with any other piece of sane literature, by a consistently literal hermeneutic which recognizes the clear usage of speech figures.
- We believe that Christ will literally rapture His church prior to the 70th week of Daniel, followed by His glorious, premillennial arrival on the earth at least seven years later to set up His (literal) 1,000-year kingdom rule from Jerusalem over the earth.
- We believe that God's plan for history demands a consistent distinction between national Israel and the church, which includes an ongoing plan for national, ethnic Israel that culminates in Christ's millennial kingdom. We believe that individual Salvation comes through Christ alone, but that the Church has not replaced Israel and all of God's original, unconditional promises to Israel will be literally fulfilled.
